Dr. MARTIN N. SIU, D.TCM, D.Ac., M.AM, CTP
Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Master of Auricular Medicine, Master of Qi-Gong Therapy, Certified Bio-Energy Therapist
Dr. Siu comes from four generations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners. As a child, he was healing friends and family using Qi Gong techniques to heal, then during his mid-teens, he launched a Kung Fu school, teaching Qi Gong and providing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment to students. Studying for ten years both in Hong Kong and Canada, Dr. Siu has spent over 30 years in practice, expanding his areas of treatment to include ever-evolving high-tech protocols and exploring Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) applications for the western lifestyle
“TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is based on balancing the Qi which is the vital force energy that each and every one of us is born with. The vital force energy is the mother nature energy. The objective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is first to identify why the Qi is imbalanced and then assist the patient in balancing his or her Qi. Once Qi is balanced, the symptoms will disappear. Consider the wheels and tires of a vehicle that are out of alignment or have inadequate air pressure – the vehicle gives us a very uncomfortable ride. The same with our bodies: if we are out of alignment, our ride through life will be painful.
Nutrition plays a very important part of balancing Qi and we assist our patients in making the right food choices to maximize health and well-being. As the saying goes, we are what we eat. Not only that, we are also how we eat and when we eat. Ask yourself why do I have a disease or symptoms of a disease today? You see, over the years what we put into our bodies will accumulate to the point that our Qi becomes distorted and manifests into discomforts; we continue doing this constantly without realizing that we have abused ourselves. Applying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques and new technologically advanced protocols can reverse this process and guide you back to your path of balanced Qi and ultimate health.”
HERMAN M. SIU, M.AM, CTP
Master of Auricular Medicine, Certified Bio-Energy Therapist
Considering how much knowledge and wisdom has been passed down from all Herman’s ancestors, it was only natural that he became a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioner. With close to 5 years experience and 4 years of actual practice, Herman has seen thousands of patients and has treated all types of cases ranging from cancer, heart attack and stroke to arthritis and simple sports injuries.
“My family has been deeply involved in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for so many generations; they taught me strong caring values and how to truly be compassionate towards others. Coming from this long line of healers, I consider it an honour to carry on this esteemed tradition. I‘ve studied in both Canada and in the United States at the Auricular Medicine International Research and Training Centre clinic under the direction of Dr. William Huang and Dr. Li Chun Huang. They are the two people directly in charge of bringing Auricular Medicine to the Western world and have written many books. They have treated Presidents and Prime Ministers of various countries while still finding time to share their experience and knowledge with the world, traveling many continents. The training centre was founded in 1994 to promote international research and training.
When we talk about healing and treatment, we are dealing with energy or Qi. Qi is the balancing of both yin and yang energy that we have inside each of us. Once we learn that it’s the imbalances in our lives that cause many illnesses, then we can truly understand how to help ourselves. At our clinic we apply many different modalities such as: acupuncture, cupping moxibustion, qi gong and of course, Auricular medicine. We also use different systems such as NES, NANO SRT and tong ren.”
